Nicolás del Valle and Damián Gálvez  participated in the seminar Espace de Recherche, Sociologie et Anthropologie, giving talks on their current research. The event was on January 11 in the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and organized by the Institute des Hautes Etudes de l’Amérique Latine (IHEAL) / Université Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris III). The seminar was attended by the professors and graduate students program in Anthropology and Sociology of IHEAL. The seminar included  interventions of Denis Merklen and David Dumoulin, both professors at the Université Sorbonne Nouvelle.

The conference of Nicolás del Valle focused on the theoretical transfers of the School of Frankfurt in the current Latin American critical thought, through the study of theories and the works of different authors that are characterized by having developed a critique of the domination. Meanwhile, the second talk, by Damián Gálvez, consisted in discussing the stereotypical representations and essentialized that are built on the cultural identity of indigenous peoples in a context of the high inter-ethnic conflict in Mexico.
